17-YEAR-OLD DRIVES A CAR AND CRASHES IT INTO THE BIKE, INJURING FOUR PEOPLE INCLUDING TWO MINOR KIDS

ACCORDING TO THE RECORDS, SEVERAL THOUSAND ROAD ACCIDENTS TAKES PLACE IN GOA EVERY YEAR, AND  MOST OF THEM ARE CAUSED DUE TO RASH AND NEGLIGENT DRIVING. BUT, THERE ARE MANY ACCIDENTS THAT CAUSES BY THE MINORS, AND THIS IS ONE SUCH ACCIDENT CASE, WHEREIN A 17-YEAR-OLD DROVE A CAR AND CRASHED INTO TWO WHEELER INJURING FOUR….

According to the reports, a car driven by the 17-year-old minor hit the oncoming motorcycle as he lost the control over the car after he hitting the vehicle parked on the road side. The accident took place at around 5.30 pm on Sunday at the Tivim – Sirsaim road said the sources.

The Mapusa police revealed that a minor had driven the car without a valid driving license, although it is not yet known as how he managed to get hold the car keys. Before hitting the car which was parked on the roadside, he hit the oncoming two wheelers, injuring four.

The sources in the police said that the motorcycles had four occupants, a couple, and their two kids, who got injured in this accident. The police said the 17-year-old minor is solely responsible for an accident as he was not authorized to drive a four wheeler and had no valid driving license.

According to the reports published in Times of India, the two wheelers was proceeding towards Asanora from Tivim when the car has driven by the minor hit on it, causing serious injuries to a couple and their two minor kids.

The car after hitting the two wheeler skidded and halted along the side of a road. The motorcycle rider Prashant Harmalkar, 37, his wife Prashila and their two kids, Prathamesh 5 and Pradesh 3 were seriously injured in this accident.

All the injured were first admitted to the district hospital at Mapusa but due to their serious injuries they were referred to GMC (Goa Medical College) & Hospitals for the further treatment, said the sources.

THE IMPACT WAS SO SEVERE THAT THE FRONT WHEEL OF THE BIKE CAME OUT

The sources said that, following the accident, locals gathered at the accident spot, and was about to hammer the driver and another occupant of the car causing the accident, but was rescued by the police who reached the spot on time.

The Mapusa police have registered the case against the minor car driver under rash and negligent driving, driving without a valid license and causing injuries to others. The further investigation is underway said the police sources.

This is very serious offense and the culprits need to be punished severely, said the locals from Tivim – Sirsaim area. What is your opinion on this?
