GOA POLICE SMELT RAT INTO THE DEATH OF A 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL FROM SANGUEM, WHO WAS FOUND LYING DEAD AT HOME UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES. THE MOTHER OF THE GIRL HAD INFORMED THE POLICE THAT SHE DIED FOLLOWING A NECK PAIN BUT, POLICE NOTICED SOMETHING UNUSUAL WHICH MADE THEM DISBELIEVE THE STATEMENT OF THE MOTHER OF DECEASED GIRL.
According to the available reports, the mother of the 12-year-old Kajal Pappu Yadav informed the Sanguem police that she found her daughter lying dead at home under mysterious circumstances. Her mother said that her daughter went for Ganesh immersion on the previous night, and while coming back home she complained about the pain in her neck.
The police said that they have yet to ascertain the actual cause of the death of a minor girl and only after the postmortem, they will be able to come to a certain conclusion. The incident is supposed to have taken place earlier that night, but the girl’s mother reported the same only the next morning at 10.30 am, said sources.
They said the girl was studying in the 6th STD in a Government Aided School, situated in Sanguem. The police did not rule out the possibility of a foul play in this incident and are doing further investigation.
According to the sources, the deceased girl lived in a rented house in Sanguem along with her mother and two sisters. The family belongs to Bihar and the victim’s father who is said to have been working in a factory at Sanger and had moved back to Bihar for work following the closure of the factory leaving his family behind in Goa.
Police sources in Sanguem had to feel that the minor girl has been murdered, and they started the investigation in the reverse direction and soon realised that their suspicion was not baseless and upon the interrogation the elder sister of the deceased girl confessed to the crime but the motive behind the murder as narrated by the accused still remains the mystery before the police and they are doing further investigation into this case. Meanwhile, the involvement of the mother of deceased cannot be ruled out in this case, said the sources.
