Why exactly would three men attack a lawyer with a syringe? This is the question being asked in Mapusa, Goa, as the Police look for three unidentified persons involved in the attack. One should understand that an attacker will have a specific target. In a recent incident, a Mapusa based lawyer, Dyaneshwar Kalangutkar was attacked with a syringe by three unknown persons at his office on Tuesday morning. The reason behind the attack is not to be known as yet. Here is the complete report. 

[su_expand more_text=”READ MORE” less_text=” ” height=”0″ hide_less=”yes” link_style=”button” link_align=”center”]According to the sources, Mapusa Police said that Kalangutkar, in his complaint stated that when Kalangutkar was sitting in his office based on the second floor of a building near the Mapusa court, three unknown persons entered his office near the Mapusa civil court at around 9 am on Tuesday and injured him with a white colored liquid. Police sources informed that the lawyer also informed that the duo even tried to strangulate him. The third accused was standing near the door.  As soon as Kalangutkar retaliated, causing the syringe to fall, his assailants fled from the spot.

Later Kalangutkar managed to descend on the ground floor of the building and narrated the incident to another lawyer. Police, who were intimated, rushed to the hospital and also conducted panchanama. Police also used services of forensic experts and dog squad.

Police sources informed that on September 24, three men with a similar description and speaking in Hindi had also visited the lawyer’s house and had enquired about him and his family.

According to the information, it is known that the lawyer is not aware of the accused nor the motive behind the attack.

Kalangutkar has been admitted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) for treatment and Mapusa police have registered an offense under sections 452, 341, 324, and 328 of IPC. PSI Paresh Ramnathkar is investigating the matter.
