There are certain elements of the society like Doctors, Lawyers, Police & Politicians never do not easily get convicted by the court of law especially in India. How many cases are you aware of where any of the following have been convicted for the crime suggested having their involvement? Many be none or very rare. To prove this fact we have one of the recent case of suspended cops who suppose to have been involved into drug peddling case along with drug mafia have been reinstated back into the their position.

According to the news published in a local daily, Goa government on Tuesday reinstated two senior police officers and five constables who were suspended and arrested for their involvement with drug peddlers in the state in 2010. The state home department had shown mercy on these cops by restoring them back to their respective posts. The cops who were allotted their portfolio by the home department are, PI Ashish Shirodkar, PSI Punaji Gawas and five constables who were suspended following their online exposure by a foreign model who was the friend of drug mafia Atala.

It may be recalled that the foreign model Lucky Amori Farmhouse had conducted a sting operation on her own fiancé Atala exposing the nexus between police officials in the state run Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) and drug peddlers. In the video clip Atala was seen admitting that he was purchasing the drug from the police officers spilling out the name of Ashish (Shirodkar), following to this Farmhouse revealed the name of Roy, son of then home minister Ravi Naik being involved into drug nexus case.

As per the order issued by the Home Department all the seven policemen including head constable Husain Sheikh and constables Sahesh Pokle, Sanjay Parab, R S Kankonkar and Sandeep Parab were posted to Goa Reserve Police (GRP). All the officials are hereby reinstated into service from suspension with immediate effect, without prejudice to any ongoing action against them, says the order signed by Deputy Inspector General of Police V Renganathan.

Meanwhile the Goa State Congress party has raised the query over the move of CBI to grant a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) to reinstate the suspended cops back to their job who were being probed by the agency itself for allegedly selling seized drugs back to the narcotics mafia. “The party will write to CBI headquarters and Prime Minister Narendra Modi questioning how NOC was given to reinstate policemen being probed for their narcotics mafia nexus,” party’s Goa unit spokesperson Sunil Kawathankar told the media. “The CBI has to clarify its position. Is it political pressure? We feel there was political pressure to reinstate these officers,” Kawathankar said, adding that Congress would also write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
