In one of the most horrifying incident, a woman was gang-raped in a moving train that too in the ladies coach. This embarrassing incident took place in Delhi. Once again the capital of India flashed into the media for the humiliation of the woman. This incident has made one thing clear that the public transport like railway is also not safe for the woman in India.
According to the sources, the A-32-year old woman was allegedly raped and robbed of valuables in the running train in Delhi. The indigent took place in the ladies compartment in the moving train between Shahadara and Old Delhi railway stations.
According to the police reports, the incident took place on Saturday. When the incident took place five women were sitting in the ladies the ladies coach and four of them have later deboarded the train at Shahdara railway station and three men boarded the coach from Shahdara, said the police.
According to the reports, initially, two men raped her and robbed her of her bag and fled the scene. The third man after raping her allegedly assaulted her said the police sources. Meanwhile, the constables boarded the train and saw the man sexually assaulting the woman who was trying to fight back, police said. When the train reached Old Delhi Railway Station, the man and the woman was taken to the hospital.
The accused, identified as Shahbaz (25), was arrested and a case was registered against him under the relevant sections of law. The woman belongs to Bihar and was coming to Delhi to attend a family function.
