After the expulsion of Siolim Candidate from AAP (Aam Aadmi Party), now another party coordinator had left the party. According to the sources, a Women Cell Co-ordinator of Aam Aadmi Party Aasma Sayed has resigned from the party citing the party is male dominated and sidelining its Women members.

Following the recent split of its Siolim Candidate from the party, AAP has lost yet another important party worker due to the probable women disempowerment activities by the party seniors. According to the sources, the AAP Women Cell Coordinator Aasma Sayed has given her resignation from AAP stating that the party activities are discouraging the Women empowerment in the state.

Ms. Sayed had made a statement in the media that she is resigning from all the posts of Aam Aadmi Party due to gender bias behavior of the party. “Today I am resigning from all my posts from Aam Aadmi Party. I have never joined this party for the ticket but to work selflessly for the people of Goa,” she stated adding that “I have joined the party and did all my work related to the party activity without any expectations.”

She further said that the AAP seniors had promised her the ticket looking at her good work but that is never been the issue of her leaving the party. “After I joined the party they saw my work and told me that I am a probable candidate and they promised me (Ticket) also but that not the reason for leaving the party. I would have still continued to do my work selflessly but I did not like their working style. I was disheartened the moment they removed the former party convenor Rajeshree Nagarsekar from her position and brought the male candidate in her place.”

When the media asked Ms. Sayed if Rajeshree had any objection for the same, she said that the answer to this question only Rajeshree can give. “I cannot comment on her (Rajeshree) behalf and she is the right person to answer your question but if I was there in her place, I would have surely got hurt. The party is doing the gender biased activities,” she alleged.

Aasma Sayed told the media that she wants to pass the message to all the people of Goa that they should choose the regional alternative. “I Would like to convey the message to all the people of Goa to choose the regional alternative who will think in the best interest of Goans and will support the Women of Goa.”

Meanwhile, the former AAP candidate from Siolim had the similar point of view towards the behavior of AAP functioning in the state. He stated that 90 percent of his supports has left the AAP and for him, Aam Aadmi is his supporters and not the party and hence he had taken the decision of leaving AAP due to the demand from his supporters.

The growing dissatisfaction of the party workers shows the adverse effect on the future of AAP in the state of Goa. The party has just started gaining the popularity in the state and their people have started deserting the party. There is a long way to go and one can only wait and watch as what next thing will happen. If you wish to leave your comments and suggestions please go ahead.
